Wiki.JPG

A. Copy Sidney's table. Complete it to give information about income and estimated costs for up to 10 customers.
Ans. Above the question

B. How does the income column change as the number of customers increases? Explain how you can use this
relationship to caculate the income for any number of customers.
Ans.
The income increases with the rate of $350. So, when I caculate the amount of customer, I will just add $350 from the last
total I got.

C. Add and complete a column for "Total Cost" (including bike rental, food and camp costs, and van rental) to your table.
How does the total cost change as the number of customers increases? Describe how you can caculate the total cost for
any number of customers?
Ans.
The total cost increases with a rate of $155.When I caculate the amount of customer, I will just add $350 from the last total I got.

D. Add and complete a column for "profit". What profit would be earned from a trip with 5 customers? 10 customers? 25
customers?
Ans.
The profit for 5 customers is $275, for 10 customers is $1250, and for 25 customers is $7175.

Follow-ups

1. What other patterns of change do you see in the table?
Ans.
I saw that on bike rental, it is increasing by $30, on food and camp costs it is increasing with the rates of $125 and on van rental just
stay constant.
2. What is the least number of customers for the tour to make profit?
Ans.
4 customers, where they make $80 profit.
3.What do you think is the least number of customers needed to make it worthwhile for the students to run the tour? Explain your answer.
Ans.
I think 10 because it is easy for students to handle crowds. And all of them would fit in a van.
